Leaning into the wonders of the natural world\, each song is a personal narrative\, stitched together with melodies ranging from joyful to melancholic. \nEmily Margaret – Since first picking up a guitar at age 7\, and writing her first song two years later\, 17 year-old\, Guilford\, VT-based singer/songwriter Emily Margaret has honed her songwriting craft studying at the Antidote Workshop with two time Grammy award-winner Sonya Kitchell\, and at the Berklee College of Music. Drawing inspiration from R&B\, jazz\, and folk influences\, she crafts a soulful folk sound that showcases her poetic yet relatable lyrics\, and her powerful velvety voice. \nHelen Hummel – Singer/songwriter Helen Hummel hails from the green mountains of Vermont. Her music reflects the rural landscape of her upbringing and explores the styles of Folk\, Americana\, and Indie\, among many others. Through classic and original songs\, she fills out the limits of her vocal range\, accompanying herself on bright and playful guitar. She currently lives in Western Massachusetts and regularly tours through her home state of Vermont and greater New England. \nIan Galipeau – Ian Galipeau is an indie-rock songwriter for hopeful cynics. He weaves empathetic storytelling and careful wordplay into thought-provoking songs that fit loosely under “indie rock”\, with strands of Americana. His evocative voice and detailed songcraft have drawn comparisons to Hozier and Ben Harper. Ian has been performing around New England for 12 years\, sharing stages with regional mainstays including Arc Iris\, Dietrich Strause\, and Ian Fitzgerald. The last few years have been his busiest ever – in addition to playing 150+ shows\, he’s put out two albums\, a pair of EPs\, and a handful of singles. His latest effort\, Faded Pictures\, came out on February 22nd. \n \nJonathan Stephen Braught – Jonathan Stephen Braught has been playing music in New England for twenty years. He started playing guitar because he struggled to put a voice to emotion\, and it became an important expressive outlet. Music allows him to convey an inner world that he struggles to put into words\, and his guitar is a natural conduit for creation. Jonathan is an energetic and prolific performer. Involved with a variety of musical projects\, he’ll be performing for the Forest of Melody with Paul Martinez\, the agile lead guitar player in one of those projects\, the up-and-coming band\, GOLDTOOTH. \nDaniel Hales – Daniel Hales is the singer and songwriter for the eclectic rock band: The Frost Heaves & Hales\, which The Greenfield Recorder praised for their “adventurous approach to making music\, both challenging and delighting the listener.” Daniel’s lyrics have frequently been singled out for praise: “Hales artfully plays with the duality of words\, creating lyrics that are both smart and memorable” wrote Northeast Performer. The Daily Hampshire Gazette praised his songs for “lyrical details not often put in pop tunes… lines pop out as though in 3-D.” Impact Press called Daniel’s lyrics “nothing short of brilliant.” The Frost Heaves & Hales have released 5 albums and 2 EPs\, including Contrariwise: Songs from Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass. Their sound doesn’t fit neatly into any one box\, but contains elements of folk\, ambient\, and rock. Some may call it “post-folk” music. The full spectrum of love is represented in their songs – sometimes they may draw you in tenderly and gently lull you to sleep\, then the next minute they can be loud & emotional. From Portland\, ME to Denver\, CO Pastuhov has shared his unique brand of indie-folk on stages large and small. Drawing on influences that range from Elliott Smith to Sam Cooke\, Pastuhov has independently released 3 full length albums\, 2 EPs\, as well as a 2017 album release under the moniker Bad Galaxy. All are worth your attention! Pastuhov’s most recent album\, titled “New Mirror”\, has been his most successful to date\, with the song “Single and Young” gaining real traction on radio and streaming playlists. “Spot on”\, is the phrase I like to use to describe his performances\, as it equally applies to his songwriting\, his vocals\, and his guitar work.
