DESCRIPTION:Jim is a singer. In fact\, he takes a certain amount of pride in his lack of any desire to make his guitar playing a center of attention. Instead\, he uses the instrument to provide a sort of ‘canvas’\, to which he applies his emotive vocals to ‘paint’ the images he wants to share with his audience. He plays mostly cover tunes\, but every now and then\, if he’s feeling a little frisky\, he may throw in an original. ‘Friskiness’ aside\, however\, his song choices are often surprising and evocative\, always interesting and extremely well-executed. Pulling from a wide variety of genres\, he thoughtfully curates each show to fit the venue\, yet offer a largely different collection of tunes than he’s played in the past. \nYou may also be familiar with Jim as half of the Pink Floyd tribute act\, Midnight Floyd\, with Tom Gutermuth on lead guitar.  Keep your eyes peeled\, and be sure to catch that act as well!

SUMMARY:Local Music SHOW - Andrew Laitres!!!
DESCRIPTION:We’re currently awaiting the release of Andrew’s 20th album! \nBrattleboro native Andrew Laitres is a singer/songwriter\, guitarist and performer who joined his first band at age 14 in 1976. He played concerts and dances at High schools across southeastern Vermont and southwestern New Hampshire for the next 3 1/2 years until the band broke up at the end of High School in 1979. Andrew joined his first professional touring band (8084) in 1982 and spent the next 4 years on the road in the Northeast of New England and Canada.  \nSince 1986 Andrew has focused mainly on recording and has released many albums of original music – look for them on Spotify and Bandcamp – search for “The Winter Tree”. He played in a band with Lisa McCormick in the early 90s as well as The Reptiles in 1988. Andrew also started playing solo acoustic gigs in the 90s. He covers a vast array of 60s\, 70s and 80s classic rock as well as performing his original music\, and we’re very excited to have him perform for us!

DESCRIPTION:Helen Hummel hails from the green mountains of Vermont. Her music reflects the rural landscape of her upbringing and explores the styles of Folk\, Americana\, and Indie\, among many others. Through classic and original songs\, she fills out the limits of her vocal range\, accompanying herself on bright\, uniquely-styled\, and playful guitar. Helen released a full length album in 2017\, Many Waters\, and has played at the historic Bitter End in New York City and the legendary Viper Room in Los Angeles. She currently lives in Western Mass and regularly tours through her home state of Vermont and greater New England. Helen has opened for such artists as Anaïs Mitchell\, Poco\, Red Wanting Blue\, The Salty Suites\, and Chelsea Williams. \n(I chose the image I did\, to promote this show\, because I think it’s safe to say\, we’re all ready to welcome some more beach-appropriate weather back to our region. After only about two years’ working together\, they’ve established themselves as real gems in our LOCAL music scene – hitting it hard\, and making beautiful waves! Chelle plays guitar\, and Oriana plays keys\, banjo\, melodica\, and percussion. They both sing\, and their harmonies are – as I believe I may have already ‘hinted’ at – truly exquisite!

DESCRIPTION:Alexis Pastuhov has a new album coming out soon\, so we’re sure he’ll be playing some NEW music for us! He’s been writing and performing original music for nearly 20 years. From Portland\, ME to Denver\, CO Pastuhov has shared his unique brand of indie-folk on stages large and small. Drawing on influences that range from Elliott Smith to Sam Cooke\, Pastuhov has independently released 3 full length albums\, 2 EPs\, as well as a 2017 album release under the moniker Bad Galaxy. All are worth your attention! Pastuhov’s most recent album\, titled “New Mirror”\, has been his most successful to date\, with the song “Single and Young” gaining real traction on radio and streaming playlists. “Spot on”\, is the phrase I like to use to describe his performances\, as it equally applies to his songwriting\, his vocals\, and his guitar work.

DESCRIPTION:Yes\, we’re aware Andrew played a show for us just a couple months ago. For that incredible show\, he played exclusively classics and covers\, in the amazing style he has. This time\, we’ve made him promise to play some originals! \nBrattleboro native Andrew Laitres is a singer/songwriter\, guitarist and performer who joined his first band at age 14 in 1976. He played concerts and dances at High schools across southeastern Vermont and southwestern New Hampshire for the next 3 1/2 years until the band broke up at the end of High School in 1979. Andrew joined his first professional touring band (8084) in 1982 and spent the next 4 years on the road in the Northeast of New England and Canada.  \nSince 1986 Andrew has focused mainly on recording and has released 17 albums of original music. He played in a band with Lisa McCormick in the early 90s as well as The Reptiles in 1988. Andrew also started playing solo acoustic gigs in the 90s. He covers a vast array of 60s\, 70s and 80s classic rock as well as performing his original music\, and we’re very excited to have him perform for us!

DESCRIPTION:Last time we had these guys scheduled to play\, Adam\, the bass player\, mashed one of his fingers in a door\, the day before the show\, so Tim ended up playing solo. A great set! Adam’s finger is (mostly) all better now\, so I wanted to get them rescheduled to play as a duo\, ASAP. \nAn acclaimed guitarist\, and singer/songwriter\, Tim Dyer easily crosses genres from funk\, blues\, R&B\, and soulful rock. He was the co-founder of popular southern Vermont band\, Social Medication\, and a veteran of the New England jam band circuit since the 1990s. He studied at the Berklee School of Music\, where his playing attracted the attention of Teddy Slatus\, the long time manager of the legendary blues guitarist\, Johnny Winter. Tim went on to play live shows supporting Johnny Winter\, before relocating to Austin\, TX – landing right in the heart of the fertile Austin music scene\, playing many live shows in Austin’s finest live music venues. Now he’s back in New England – yet another Austin-to-Bratt transplant! – and ready to put on a fantastic\, lively\, intimate show for you!
